I think one of the hardest things for me to wrap my mind around is the idea that time has no existence; time is a man made concept. Just as Einstein’s theory of relativity states that everything is relative to the person, so in turn there is no equivalent for everyone. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that considering time is only relative to your person, then we should embrace every moment right now.
You hear it all the time, live in the moment, live in the moment, live in the moment. It’s a phrase everyone has said, but many people don’t really wrap their mind around that statement, in fact, I don’t think that statement can even be 100% true living in society. If you think about it, we all have obligations (time obligations). We have to wake up at a certain time, we have to go to work or school at a certain time , we fall asleep, eat, do everything at specific times. Without realizing it we’ve become slaves to time. It’s alright though. There has to be a way to live in the moment while living in society. How can we embrace this beautiful moment right now?
Let go of the past and don’t worry about the future. The past and future does not exist, only memories of the past and thoughts of the future do. The only thing that is 100% conceivable is this moment right now. Right now you are listening, seeing, breathing, tasting, smelling this very moment right now. Stop grieving on the past. Don’t beat yourself up over things you’ve done or said. If you are changed person now you are a changed person always. The past does not define you, only right now can define you. Most of the time we can become our own worst enemy. We are stressing over things we should not be stressing about. The future yes, is very understandable to stress about. We need to know where our careers are headed or we have important obligations to worry about. These things are very important and we can’ t just stop thinking about them, but what we can do is change the way we feel about them. The one thing you always have complete control of is yourself. Don’t stress about the future. Tell yourself, “My future is exactly where it needs to be. Everything I desire will fall perfectly in place. Everything will always be okay.” If you can tell yourself that while also fully embracing it, you’re on your way to embracing every beautiful moment.
Take a second. Give yourself a hug. Love the body you’ve been given as a vessel to experience and learn. Ask yourself, “Do you love who you are right now?” If you do, great! Embrace that feeling always. If you don’t, change what you don’t like. You are in control. It is never too late to change things around because we always have this moment.
